Not my first blog post ever. I’ve been dabbling for decades at this point.

But my first blog in a few years. Years in which I’ve amassed even more “rich and rewarding cultural experiences” as my family likes to call them. Not negative experiences, but character building ones, or the “once is enough” kind of life moments. So I thought I’d share here (blame my friends, they keep encouraging me to do this) rather than write one of those e-books. I’m a librarian, my philosophy is information is to be shared freely, not stuck behind a paywall.

My aim is to post a couple of times a week on specific themes. And do a monthly finance roundup because man, I am working on that. The bank that holds my mortgage asked me when I planned to retire. I said the morning of my funeral. It was one of those moments where humor translated after a beat and they realized what I said and that I was sort of kidding. I have fourteen years til official retirement. While I love love love my work, my school, my colleagues, I am not sure I can sustain fourteen more years of this, so girl needs to get her financial shizzle together if I want any chance of a comfortable retirement before 65.

Also, I don’t use generative AI. The bad photos were taken by me on my phone. The posts and articles are all written by me, so the mistakes are all mine.
